15 Early Signs of Pregnancy

April 9, 2019 by Meg 2 Comments

Trying to figure out if you are pregnant with these early signs of pregnancy can be a fun little task and you can see how in tune you are with your body. Those who are actively trying to conceive are probably very in tune with themselves and can easily pick up on the small changes that happen during early pregnancy. Making it easier for them to know they are pregnant before a missed period.

Now obviously the only way to know for sure if you are pregnant is to take a test and go see a doctor. Especially since some of the early signs of pregnancy overlap with the signs of PMS. But anyways here are some of the very early signs of pregnancy!

Early Pregnancy Signs

Early Signs of Pregnancy

Spotting/ Cramping

6 to 12 days you could experience what is known as implantation bleeding. Some woman mistake this as the start of their period because it happens right around the same time you would start your period.

So how do you tell if it’s the start of your period or implantation bleeding?

Implantation bleeding is actually just spotting, meaning you would only have blood when you wiped. Implantation bleeding usually only last 3 days or less.
If the spotting starts to get heavier than it is most likely your period, or if it lasts longer than 3 days.

Breast Changes

For some woman, breast changes occur as soon as one week after conception. Your breast could feel:

  • Sore
  • Heavy
  • Darkening areola (the area around your nipple)
  • Itchy breast
  • Your breast become more veiny
  • Tingling sensation in the breast. This is usually due to the increased blood flow to your boobs during early pregnancy. This was one of my early symptoms that I experienced.

Fatigue

Due to the increased levels of progesterone, you could start to feel more tired, as soon as 1 week after conception.

Nausea

Nausea or morning sickness is a dreaded common symptom for a lot of women. Don’t let the name fool you however because morning sickness can occur at any time during the say. Also, you don’t necessarily have to throw up with morning sickness, you could just be nauseous.

Missed Period

This is one of the biggest signs of pregnancy but a missed period could also be due to things like hormonal changes, stress, or weight loss.

Change in Cervical Mucous

Thick milky discharge is an early sign of pregnancy. Usually occurring right after ovulation.

*if your discharge is green/yellowish, burning sensation, or itchy, it could mean an infection and you should talk to your doctor*

Constipation/Diarrhea

For some woman, they become very constipated early in their pregnancy. For others, they could have diarrhea.
Contradicting I know, but it’s different for every woman.

Mood Swings

Due to the hormone changes many woman experience mood swings early in pregnancy. If you start crying at things you normally wouldn’t cry over this could be an early sign of pregnancy.

Frequent Urination

if you find yourself making more frequent trips to the bathroom this could mean you are pregnant.

*if you suspect a UTI you should go see a doctor*

Dizziness

you can feel light-headed or dizzy in the early stages of pregnancy from the changes in your blood pressure.

Twinges in Stomach

Due to your muscles stretching you may feel twinges, pulling, or pinching in your stomach

Other Weird Signs of Early Pregnancy

  • Tasting metal
some woman report that it felt like they have eaten a mouth full of coins. This metal taste is caused by an increase in your hormones.
  • Increased sense of smell
  • bloating
  • Vivid Dreams

Mine is more of a question. If I conceived on the 31st of December, and started spotting on the 19th of January is that to late for implantation bleeding? MY tubes are also been tied for 4 years.

Hello! I am no medical professional and if you think you might be pregnant I would suggest speaking with your doctor.

I do think it would be a little late for implantation bleeding. But again your best bet would to be take a test and speak with your doctor
