Easter Chick Handprint Craft

March 21, 2019 by Meg Leave a Comment

I’m always looking for fun holiday crafts for my toddler to do. Not only do they make great gifts, but they are awesome activities to do when the weather isn’t the greatest for playing in!

This handprint chick is an easy, low mess craft! I enjoy messy crafts sometimes, but there are days where you just don’t feel like cleaning up a big mess. This Easter craft is perfect for those types of days.

Easter Craft: Handprint Chick

Step 1:

Take the yellow construction paper and trace a handprint.

Step 2:

Time to cut. If your child is old enough to cut with safety scissors, they can do this part.

My two-year-old is still not the best with scissors so I cut out his handprint for him.

Step 3:

Place the cut-out handprint on a piece of white construction paper and trace an egg shape around it.

Step 4:

Cut out the egg shape and the bottom half of the egg.

Step 5:

Glue the handprint and the egg to whichever paper you chose to be the background.

Step 6:

Cut out a little orange triangle for the chicks nose.

Step 7:

Glue the googly eyes and the nose onto the chick.

Step 8:

Cut a strip of green construction paper. Long enough to go across the background paper. Once you cut out the strip, cut little slits down the length of the green paper to make the grass.

Glue the grass onto the picture and you are done!

Now you can write whatever you would like on your Easter card!

What are some of your child’s favourite types of crafts to make? Leave a comment below! I would love to hear about more crafts to make!
